Well-deserved Bangkok Trip! Part I
written on Monday, June 20, 2016 @ 12:05 AM ✈

After 2 terms of teaching, it's a well-deserved break for all MOE teachers! <hurray!>

& here I am, coming back to this little space to pen down my trip to Bangkok with the 2 girls!
Back in March, we bought a return tickets to Bangkok & started planning for our shopping trip. I was really excited and started researching furiously which I will pen down everything here.

So, 6 Days 5 Nights, here we come!

So, happy 3 girls took off on a 6.40am flight from Singapore (yes, we had to be at the Changi Airport at 3.30am) and landed at 8am in Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport. We choose a morning flight because we do not want to waste the entire day. Even though it was tiring as we survived with very little rest, it was worthwhile :')

Immediately after we landed, we head off to get our Thai sim card. Technology slowly sinks into us and we just have to. We spent about 280 baht (I think) on the sim card that is valid for 7 days with 1.5 GB worth of data in the airport. It is a registered shop with their crew there ready to help to insert the sim card for us. The service is yichibang!

We have to transit to another line; BTS in order to reach our destination. Instead of getting the one-time-usage card, we decided to buy the BTS card (known as Rabbit Card) as our main mode of transport around Bangkok is through BTS.

For this trip, we decided to have our stay in Airbnb instead of hotel as we are tight on budget. It's my first time having my stay in an Airbnb apartment thus, it was all new to me. Well, my Airbnb apartment was allocated in BTS Ratchdamri Station that is surrounded by Hi-end hotels such as St Regis, Grand Hyatt and Hansar. The location of our Airbnb is quite convenient for us as it is walking distance to Central World, Platinum mall, Pratunam Market, Big C and etc. Our room is amazing, very beautiful, clean and tidy; thus, I would highly recommend people whose agenda to Bangkok to shop to stay here!

Upon arrival, a maid greeted us to bring us to the room and pass us the access card and the key.
3 different flavours of home bake Danish tarts were waiting for us thus, serving us as breakfast.

We took public transport to BTS Ratchdamri Station and quickly settle down before we kick start!
The first stop we went to is Siam Paragon for lunch at After You Cafe (more like for desert). We went on to walk around Siam area to explore the heart of Bangkok before heading to our very first night market; Talat Rod Fai Night Market.
After you cafe
free thai tea available for all!

We tried Mango Sticky Rice in a korean bingsu presentation. It's really unique to me and it taste splendid! I think it cost 200 baht if I did not remember it wrongly. It's definitely worth a try & I would definitely head back to After You Cafe for that Mango Sticky Rice again!
Next to the Mango Sticky Rice is Shibuya Honey Toast (165 baht) ! It's also worth a try. However, if I were to choose Mango Sticky Rice and Shibuya Honey Toast, Mango Sticky Rice definitely wins!

look at the dark clouds!

before we reach all the tentages where the night market is held at, we have to walk a long stretch of shophouses. they are all very vintagey and interesting as well!

Our first stop - fruits! We bought watermelon @ 25 baht for such a big slice!

We tried bbq squid as well! Its really really so good that we went back for more!

Our mandatory tourist shot

This egg roll taste fantastic! I think I paid 25 baht for it!

We stopped here for a pretty long time buying bags. The quality is up there and it's really affordable. To be honest, I kinda regret not getting a totey from here. I bought a watermelon pouchy-sling which you will see me carrying throughout the next few days. I would highly recommend everyone to buy! Oh and since we bought 4, we managed to hager. Yay-ness!

This mochi ice cream came with various flavours but I guess we came abit too late for it. Most of the good flavours are sold out! Nonetheless, it was soooooo good!

Back in Krabi, I tried fried fish and it tasted so good that I bought a bag to eat all by my own. So, when I saw this, I flock there and without any hesitation, I bought it. But, it is not as good as the one I tried in Krabi. I'm really pretty disappointed though :(

This famous Bangkok Tea is a must try! The shopkeeper is very friendly and even came all the way out to take a photo with us!

Cheesecake Heaven a.k.a Chingwen's Heaven

They were giving out free Pretzel, so why not?

Indeed, shoes heaven as well

The view of pets in cages like that, break my heart.
I am an animal lover, thus, this view that the animals might not be growing up healthily, really breaks my heart and I really wished they are able to find a good owner :'(
